Inspirational presentation on diversity for up to 200 people
Do you want to switch on your managers and employees to see diversity as positive?
Do your managers even know what diversity means?
Geraldine Bown and her team can inform, educate,
motivate and inspire as many as 200 managers at a time with interactive two hour presentations on:
Making diversity happen - the individual approach
Domino's work in diversity education and management focuses on the concept of difference which includes all differences, and we look at every individual's responsibility in relation to Diversity. It is an inclusive approach as opposed to an exclusive one.
In this interactive presentation, the presenter looks at how we are warm to some aspects of difference and cold to others; how we have constructed worlds for ourselves which do not value difference and how this gets played out in the workplace.
Domino consultants are sought after speakers on diversity issues and Domino offers an innovative half-day programme on Appreciating Difference suitable for all levels in the organisation. Geraldine has completed presentations for over
3000 employees of the Health and Safety Executive, and of the Passport Office and speaks frequently at conferences and seminars. PepsiCo International will be using this seminar as part of a global modular training in Diversity and Inclusion.
Here's what people have said about the presentations:
"An excellent presentation. Examples were all ones with which you could identify which makes it so much more meaningful in trying to make changes within yourself and within your organisation"
"Very practical things to take away and work on. Very insightful and thought provoking. Will put the ideas gathered to good use" "Gave a good understanding of diversity and much food for thought. Feel enthused and motivated as a result"
"Diversity presentation excellent - really made me think about how I treat people I come into contact with"
"Training on diversity must be provided to all staff or the benefit may be lost" "I now understand what diversity means for me. I can now begin to think about how I use that as a manager" "As someone who always considered themselves 'without prejudice', I now realise that I have some real hang-ups over the things that people do or believe"
"Until the training, I didn't know how to handle my prejudices so avoided those who are
different to myself. Thanks to Geraldine, I now have a mechanism to deal with it. I will put away my first thought and concentrate on seeing beyond my prejudice"
Geraldine now has a team of four who form the diversity presentation team for conference speaking and speaking to large groups.
Additional New Programmes from Domino
As part of Domino’s ongoing research and development into current and future Diversity trends, and as well as being receptive to our clients own on going training needs, we are proud to outline new programmes and formats that you may find of interest to your organisation and training development.
DIVERSITY SKILLS APPLICATION As you know we have been working with you to increase diversity awareness in your organisation through our Appreciating Difference workshop. Feedback to this workshop has been extremely positive but now many of you are asking, rightly - 'So what now? Now people are much more aware about what diversity is and know they have to take personal responsibility for how they view difference, but what about helping our managers to increase their diversity skills – skills practice – champion behaviours – handling conflict situations – improved team interactions and business performance
in their jobs? How can we support them?'
To help you to do this we are introducing a new Diversity Skills Application workshop. This can be run over half a day or a day. If you have new managers who have not yet experienced the Appreciating Difference workshop they can attend that in the morning and Skills Application workshop in the afternoon.
What is the workshop format?
Throughout the day key concepts and ideas will be presented and delegates will have the opportunity to work individually, in pairs and in small groups. Exercises include innovative and high impact group role plays. At each stage there will be time for an open forum with the presenters, to review any issues arising from group discussions.
